Just wanted to ask all of you what is your favourite John Carpenter
movie.

My fave is probably Escape From New York.

Great Kurt Russell/John Carpenter movie, shame it hasn't been released
on dvd in Britain yet.

For me, it's a toss-up between "The Thing", and "Prince Of Darkness". If I
HAD to choose ONLY ONE, I guess I'd have to
choose "The Thing", but I've had "Prince Of Darkness" on my mind lately. I
might buy both the NTSC region 1 version because
it's uncencored, and the European PAL region 2 version because it has
commentary between Peter Jason and John Carpenter.

I just recently discovered a website which offers FREE software so that
you can view ANY DVD on your computer. The
website is

http://www.videolan.org/support/

Sorry if I got a bit off subject. :-)

Both "The Thing" and "Prince Of Darkness" have the same brooding mood that
characterizes John Carpenter films. The scores
for these films are great too. :-)

The Fog with EFNY a very close second. Both DVD's are available in
Australia.

I've become very partial to "They Live". It's scary.

The only thing scary about They Live is Rowdy Roddy Piper. The Thing
is hands down the scariest and best made Carpenter film and one of the
scariest and best made Horror films of all time. He nailed that movie.
Halloween is great, as is the Fog, as is Escape from New York.
But the Thing is his Sistine Chapel.
